Ubiquiti's PBE-5AC-Gen2 PowerBeam 5AC radio is a highly economical medium-range wireless link solution. PowerBeam's 25 dBi gain provides excellent performance to a range of up to 10 kilometres.

PowerBeam can provide up to a 450 Mbps connection to a compatible device using the unlicensed 5 GHz band. The unlicensed 5 GHz band is set up as public spectrum that anyone can operate provided they comply with strict channel occupancy and power limits.

When configured in point-to-point mode the NanoBeam communicates with one other paired device in a master-slave relationship. When configured in multipoint it operates as part of a larger network of devices communicating through a central base station.

Recommended Use

Our team uses PowerBeam 5AC to connect commercial and light-industrial facilities typically within a range of 800 metres to 3 kilometres. Connectivity remains possible well beyond 3 kilometres, however data rate does begin to diminish - particularly in the presence of hostile equipment.

The equipment is generally considered light duty, but with a low unit cost should a failure occur replacement often still works out to be an economical process.
