Completing the replanning of the 28 GHz band is a significant priority for the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) and important in providing certainty to stakeholders interested in using this spectrum.
The 28 GHz band can no longer be used for PTP microwave services, with the band repurposed for 5G services. Microwave links currently operating in the 28 GHz band are to be transitioned to the 38 GHz band over a seven year period beginning 2020.
