Wireless Band

Operation of wireless network equipment on the Australian 900 MHz band is governed by Section 54 of the Radiocommunications (Low Interference Potential Devices) Class Licence 2015, which was last updated in June 2018.

LIPD Class 2000 legislation permits the operation of Frequency hopping, WiFi and RLAN transmitters between the range of 915 to 928 MHz, provided they operate under the conditions outlined below. The 13 MHz bandwidth allows most wireless radios to operate with a 10 MHz channel width.

Conditions

The transmitter must have a maximum EIRP of 1 Watt. A minimum of 20 hopping frequencies must be used.
