This adapter is used to enable standard cables terminating with SMA Male to connect to RP-SMA equipment, such as WiFi access points.
As a result of US FCC regulation WiFi devices always use Reverse Polarity SMA (RP-SMA), which has a male pin protruding from the threaded female body. Most RF cables use a standard SMA Male connector, resulting in two male pins unable to interface. This adapter threads into the SMA Male cable and allows connection to RP-SMA devices.
This model has an extended operating frequency range to 6 GHz, covering sub-6 GHz wireless applications such as n/ac/x WiFi and multipoint networking.
