Unitel Angola
About the Unitel Network
Unitel S.A. is the largest mobile carrier in Angola, and provides mobile and data telecommunication services in Angola. It offers mobile calling, high speed data, and other services over its 3G and 4G networks. The network launched in March 2001 and is based in Luanda, Angola.
Unitel is the most preferred provider and oldest GSM mobile network in Angola. Their network covers every major population area and with about 11 million subscribers (including pre-paid), it has a market share of 80%.

Angola 3G
The network has nationwide 2G coverage in 900 and 1800 MHz bands, and in July 2007 launched 3G UMTS over the B1 (2100 MHz) band.

Unitel 4G
Unitel commercially activated 4G LTE coverage using the B3 (1800 MHz) band in December 2012.
Through partnership with Ericsson in 2013, Unitel has worked to deploy an LTE-A network with carrier aggregation of 900 and 1800 MHz bands, however in 2014 the two companies demonstrated LTE-A carrier aggregation of B1 (2100 MHz), B3 (1800 MHz), and B7 (2600 MHz). It is however unclear whether LTE-A services are currently live on the network.
