n48 (3500 MHz)
5G Band 48 (3500 MHz)
The 5G NR Band 48 was released in 3GPP TR 38.873 V16 in June 2019. The band was introduced at the request of the United States FCC in harmonisation of the country's CBRS band. The band was developed to provide protection to adjacent services which within the US include C-Band Fixed Satellite Services (operating 3700 to 4200 MHz), and Department of Defense radar systems operating on the lower side between 3100 and 3550 MHz. Consequently strict emission limits are imposed on the band.
The band is a refarm of LTE's E-UTRA Band B48.
