60-80 GHz

About the 60 to 80 GHz Band

The 60 to 80 GHz band, often referred to as the E-Band, is a complex arrangement of both public use (class licensed) and coordinated (apparatus licensed) frequency bands. The range includes the globally harmonised 61 GHz ISM band.

Sections of the 60 to 80 GHz band are globally harmonised through the International Telecommunication Union's Recommendation ITU-R F.2006, and ITU-R F.1497 for microwave technology.

ITU-R F.1497 and F.2006 defines radio-frequency channel and block arrangements for fixed wireless systems operating in the 55.78 to 66, 71 to 76, and 81 to 86 GHz bands. Each country develops its own specific operating conditions based on the global ITU-R recommendation, covering information such as antenna sizing, minimum distance requirements, and geographic coordination.
