Developing a Global Community

We want to help the world build connections. In demonstrating our commitment to this cause we are developing a library of resources for anyone to access and learn about RF communications.

In 2019 it was reported that 47% of the world's population, some 3.6 billion people, still remain disconnected from the global community. 10% of the world still remains out of range of a mobile network. We're aiming to build an open-access global database of mobile networks, along with technical characteristics of each network so that agencies and individuals are empowered with the knowledge to help close this gap.

We are also committed to compiling information on antenna theory and radiofrequency fundamentals to not only help our valued clients understand the solutions being implemented by our team, but to share this information with a wider audience and the next generation of RF professionals.

Learn about telecommunications around the world. R-Spectrum has compiled extensive resources on companies, mobile networks, and regulatory information on almost every country in the world.

Mobile Network Operators (MNO's) are companies who have built and operate their own network infrastructure. This is contrasted to Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), which are far greater in numbers, who rebrand and sell access to another company's network.

There are three types of mobile networks that remain in countries today. In this section we'll cover off the practical differences between 3G, 4G, and 5G network technologies.

The Internet of Things is a blanket term that refers to the sharing of data between a network of electronic devices for the purposes of recording, reporting, and decision making. IoT is becoming an increasingly prominent technology that has the potential to radically alter our world like almost no other wireless technology that is currently undergoing commercial development.

Information on the RF bands used for wireless communication can be found here. While bands tend to be harmonised across countries, most information in this section is specific to Australia.
