Operation of wireless network equipment on the globally harmonised 61 GHz ISM band is governed by Section 23 of the Radiocommunications (Low Interference Potential Devices) Class Licence 2015, which was last updated in June 2018.

LIPD Class 2000 legislation permits the operation of any transmitter type between the range of 61000 to 61500 MHz, provided they operate under the conditions outlined below.

Conditions

The transmitter must have a maximum EIRP of 100 mW.
